Chenille

Hannah performed her personal essay, "Chenille," as a monologue for the RC Player's student-written and -directed production The Illness Narratives in April 2015 at the University of Michigan. This video, produced at U of M's Duderstadt Center, is a replication of that performance, sans staging and other theatrical elements. About "Chenille," Hannah writes:

"This piece, originally conceived out of necessity as a sort of apology for the illness-induced fall in my performance at the end of high school, ended up leading to huge amounts of unexpected self discovery. Writing "Chenille" forced me to take a long, hard look at my avoidance of what was hard for me, and to attempt to define my identity as it really is, rather than how I wished and pretended it could be."
